Catherine graduated from The University of Bolton with an Honours Degree in Sports Rehabilitation. During her time at University she excelled on her chosen placements, in both the sporting and clinical environment. She observed the skills of both Prof Lennard Funk, orthopaedic consultant specialising in shoulders and Mr Sanj Jari, orthopaedic consultant specialising in knees, and that of their associated physiotherapists at hospitals such as Wrightington, Hope and the Bridge Water. She also spent time at Sedgley Park Rugby Union Football Club, where she worked with their physiotherapist and sports rehabilitator. This included pitch side first aid, and immediate post match treatment and care, and the assessments, diagnosis and rehabilitation of players on training nights.
Since graduating she has been working as a Sports Rehabilitator for Brooklands Manchester University Hockey Club and providing sports massage in a private physiotherapy clinic. Catherine has played a key role since joining the team working at the University of Bolton’s Sports Rehabilitation BSc (Hons) Degree; supervising students on placement providing an essential link between undergraduate and a newly qualified practitioner.
As a sports rehabilitator she assesses, diagnosis and treats both sporting and other musculoskeletal injuries, ensuring she rehabilitates patients back to their full fitness and involvement in sport
