How Water Can Help You To Sleep

Published on 11th March 2020

Did you know that water helps you sleep better?  Most people know that their hydration levels can affect how they function during the day, but they don’t realise that it also plays a critical role in how well you sleep!

Going to bed even mildly dehydrated can affect your sleep.  A lack of hydration at bedtime can lead to leg cramps and a dry mouth and nasal passages causing snoring and disrupted sleep.

“But if I drink at night I’ll be have to get up and use the bathroom!” you cry.  Waiting until bedtime before guzzling several pints of water will likely set you up for multiple trips to the bathroom, so spread your fluid intake throughout the day to maximise your chances of a good nights rest.
