NEUBIE is a specialist electrical stimulation device that can be incorporated into physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes. Rather than simply placing electrodes over a painful area, NEUBIE can be used alongside assessment, movement and therapeutic exercise to help our clinicians identify areas that may need further attention and develop an individualised rehabilitation programme.

What Is NEUBIE Therapy?

NEUBIE stands for Neuro-Bio-Electric Stimulator.

The system uses direct-current electrical stimulation and is designed to be used alongside active movement and rehabilitation.

During a session, electrodes are positioned on selected areas of the body. Your therapist can then adjust the stimulation while guiding you through appropriate movements or exercises.

The aim is not simply to treat the location where you feel symptoms. Your clinician will assess how you move and determine how NEUBIE may be incorporated into your wider rehabilitation plan.

What Can NEUBIE Be Used For?

Your treatment begins with an assessment.

We want to understand what you are struggling with, what you want to achieve and how your body is currently moving.

Your therapist may then use the NEUBIE system to explore different areas while monitoring your response.

Once suitable electrode positions and settings have been established, the NEUBIE can be combined with targeted movements and rehabilitation exercises.

This is one of the things we love about the technology: treatment can be active rather than simply lying on a treatment couch.
