This cutting edge technological therapy is a specialist electrical stimulation device that can be incorporated into physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes. Rather than simply placing electrodes over a painful area, it can be used alongside assessment, movement and therapeutic exercise to help our clinicians identify areas that may need further attention and develop an personalised rehabilitation programme.
What Is It?
The system uses direct-current electrical stimulation and is designed to be used alongside active movement and rehabilitation.
During a session, electrodes are positioned on selected areas of the body. Your therapist can then adjust the stimulation while guiding you through appropriate movements or exercises.
The aim is not simply to treat the location where you feel symptoms. Your clinician will assess how you move and determine how it may be incorporated into your wider rehabilitation plan.
