Manual Lymphatic Drainage

MLD massage is a gentle massage to encourage the drainage of the lymph fluids in the body. It helps to move fluid and toxins from the swollen areas to working lymph nodes where it can be drained. The massage is a very gentle pressure to the surface of the skin so the lymph vessels are not compressed, but open to allow improved drainage towards the lymph nodes. It is useful where swelling (oedema) is present and is a wonderfully calming treatment that can help boost the immune system and relax the sympathetic nervous system.
