We all experience difficulties at some point in our lives. Most times, we are able to find a way through difficulties and dilemmas. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we can end up feeling overwhelmed, confused, depressed or anxious and not sure what to do. At times like this, professional counselling can be helpful.
Counselling aims to reduce confusion, allowing you to make effective decisions leading to positive changes in your life. The ultimate aim is to enable you to be confident to make your own choices, reach your own decisions and act upon them accordingly.
The counsellor’s role is to enable you to explore aspects of your life and feelings, by talking openly and freely and for you to again feel confident in your own abilities in managing challenges in your life. Talking and dealing with dilemmas and struggles in such a way is rarely possible with family or friends, who are likely to be emotionally involved and have opinions and biases of their own which can feel unhelpful.
How many sessions will I need?
Each face-to-face Counselling Appointment is for 50 minutes. Decisions about the number of appointments and the intervals between appointments will be made in consultation with each client.
