Massage can decrease levels of the stress hormone cortisol by an average of 31%

We’re often asked “Does massage have any health benefits?” and of course we tell you “Yes!”, but don’t just take our word for it. An Australian study has shown that massage can decrease levels of the stress hormone cortisol by an average of 31% and increase the feel-good hormones serotonin and dopamine by an average of 28%. What does this mean for you? Well if you suffer from stress (and let’s face it most of us do), then regular massage could well help you to manage your stress levels and mitigate some of the physical and mental effects of it. Likewise if you suffer from anxiety or depression increasing your serotonin and dopamine levels through having massage, could have a positive effect on your wellbeing and help you to manage the symptoms.

Making regular professional massage a part of your self-care routine makes sense!

Testimonials

I have had a bad back and hip for a few years and the Body & Mind team have been fantastic putting my at ease and helping with overseeing my pain management. Once I had my scan results they were able to help me even more, and have been extremely accommodating despite having to adapt their roles around the pandemic.
