Wedded Bliss.....

Published on 1st June 2017

Planning a wedding can be enormously stressful for everyone involved,  but especially the bride and groom. We’ve put together our top tips for coping when wedding stress threatens to overshadow what should be a beautiful occasion:

Recognise the warning signs of stress overload and avoid spending your big day in a fog of anguish and worry.  The following are all signs that the stress of planning is taking its toll:

  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Irritability
  • Lack of appetite
  • Inability to concentrate

Take control and consider ways of reducing your stress load:

  • Delegate tasks to the mother-of-the-bride or the bridesmaid.  They are most likely just waiting to be asked!
  • Accept that there are limits to your control over the wedding
  • Don’t obsess over the details
  • Keep your sense of humour

It is important that you support yourself during stressful times by:

  • Getting adequate sleep
  • Exercise every day
  • Eat regularly and don’t skip meals
  • Avoid excess alcohol
  • Make time to meditate
  • Maintain perspective – talk to others about your concerns

Making time to connect with your partner is essential during this time.  Book a massage or wellbeing package that is specifically geared towards stress relief such as reflexology and Indian head massage.  Or why not treat the mothers of the bride and groom as well and have some “bonding” time. We are happy to help you to find the perfect wellbeing package for you.

Most importantly of all remember that marrying the love of your life in front of your family and friends is what your wedding day is REALLY all about!
